Review on Omega Paw EL RA15 1 Regular Midnight by Prathima Rrain

Easy to clean - would be easier with better sealing

I have 2 four month old kittens (brothers) and I bought these when we brought these fluffy little ones home a few months ago. My first thoughts were that I really liked the style of the pan and the kids immediately took to using it without exception. I read a few reviews before I bought it, so I looked closely at the seal when putting the two pieces together. It's definitely a challenge to get together, but I made it. Tiny debris will seep between the two sides, but the dust collector will take care of that pretty quickly. I think there should be a gasket between them to prevent leakage. About a month ago one of our kittens decided he didn't like Omega Paw anymore so we had to get a second one (which is preferable if you have multiple cats anyway). So one of them uses the Omega Paw regularly, the other openly. I was hoping it was just an enclosed space when I grabbed a second pot and thankfully that was all there was. So after a few months I'm happy with the ease of use, but not with the not-so-perfect fit between the top and bottom. I've read a lot of people about how much space it takes to flip a clean box, but even if you don't have enough space to flip it all the way, you can always move it back and forth as you roll it, making the way more manageable. I agree with other reviews mentioning the use of non-stick litter (like Arm & Hammer Slide) but also found that the Fresh Step clumping litter with Febreze worked very well with this bowl. It still sticks to the bottom a bit, but not as badly as the others, and the Febreze smell is a nice bonus. Trash off their paws, but I think it's inevitable that no matter what you use, some trash will always come out of the crate, so you might as well put a mat under the crate if you decide to buy an Omega Paw. I would definitely recommend this box to anyone looking, but be prepared for your kitty to turn away if he doesn't like the closed dresser!
