I also like the small rimmed brush because I curl my lashes with an eyelash curler and then apply mascara to my top and bottom lashes and then to my bottom lashes. With this brand, it's easier to just apply to the lashes rather than the eyelid. This is eyelash color only, no fibers. I prefer this style as you get more definition on curled lashes. I usually try to use dark brown mascara rather than black because I don't want to look like Tammy Faye or Baby Jane, but this mascara is black and I love it! It doesn't look made up or too dark. It also doesn't wrinkle on the brush when it comes out. It has a good consistency and I really hope it stays that way! If, like me, you prefer a more natural look, you should definitely try this mascara! I will use this until it goes away. I would definitely get it again!
