Review on Michelangelo Delta Bike Stand by Scott Clark

Unreliable junk bike racks and stands

Not only is this a bad product, this thing makes me actively miserable and I felt such a catharsis when I finally threw this junk out. I suffered from this for about 8 months. Of the four arms that come with it (presumably because it's designed for two bikes), only two could stand on the body without weight. Of those two functional arms, the handle that supports the bike frame itself on one of those arms fell apart within a week. Also, the mortise holes on the stand body itself were misaligned and needed to be aligned. If the packaging wasn't so painful I would send it back. The slightest scrape in passing will cause your arms to fall out of position and your bike to fall over. The rubber pads on the arms that provide friction against the body of the stand harden over time, meaning they lose friction and slide down, which also causes your bike to fall. With this type of bike rack, you don't save any physical space either. - The widest part of your bike remains the handlebars, for which the stand doesn't really offer enough clearance with a flat handlebar. In theory you could save space on a second bike if all the levers worked, but even then the stand doesn't provide enough pedal clearance on a top mount bike (and given the product's general instability, attaching and removing a top bike mount is a dangerous task . ). I suspect that I have received a counterfeit product due to typos in the assembly booklet even though it was "supplied and sold by Revain.com". I've seen these bike racks retail - if you absolutely must buy this product check it out. But in reality, this product has no audience. If you have a good, high-end bike, you run the risk of seriously damaging this product. If you have an inexpensive bike the cost of this stand is too high relative to the overall cost of your bike to be worthwhile, especially when you can get cheaper floor stands.

Pros
  • Easy to assemble :: The Michelangelo garage bike rack requires minimal effort and experience to install, all you need is a screwdriver. Mounting hardware and a wall strap are included to create a secure bike wall mount in minutes.
Cons
  • Not bad
