Not without cons - Goal

I've been wearing HyperX headsets (Cloud, Cloud II, Cloud Alpha) for more than 4 years so I have a good basis for comparison. Here is a list of my complaints from Cloud Alpha:1. Not that convenient. The padding on the ear pads is worse, not as soft or plush. They also tend to shift too much when on my head. Never experience these problems with previous cloud headsets.2. Sometimes the Xbox does not recognize the headset after booting up. You get sound but don't detect the presence of a microphone. It didn't work at all for me after turning on the Xbox. Annoying, but simply disconnecting and reconnecting the receiver fixes it for me.3. There is no way to set up microphone monitoring. Holding the mute button for 3 seconds toggles microphone monitoring on and off, but there is now a way to adjust the strength/level of microphone monitoring. The default level is too high, picks up too much background and therefore always introduces a little noise when it's on.4. soft keys. There are two buttons on the side of the headset that can be used to adjust the levels of the chat mixer. One of them was very soft, the other had a pleasant tactile click. I got a replacement from Revain and ran into the same issue. Unforgivable in this price range.5. No variable equalizer settings6. Can't see battery level on Xbox, headset is on or charging.7. No Mac support. I read several reports on their subreddit about an old version of Cloud Flight working fine on a Mac. Well I connected it to my Mac and it is not recognized. A decent first try at HyperX's native Xbox headset, but you have to wonder if some of these trade-offs are worth it (particularly the issues with comfort and mic monitoring). This comes with a wireless surcharge (suggest retail price $130-$160). I hope HyperX can fix some of these updates in future software patches, but this product appears to be a semi-finished product at the moment.
