Good brightness, crappy tape

Good brightness, crappy tape. I'm making a waterproof fishing light. When I wrapped the LED strip around the inner tube I used extra E6000 glue because the included double sided tape sucks, I would never rely on that! For all my other projects where I need to attach LED strips, I use 3M (here: 3M (38583) 1/4). So I usually remove the attached cheap tape, wipe the strip with alcohol wipes (like this: Tech Spray Wipes Isopeptide Alcohol 99% Pure 50/pack), and then apply the 3M tape. And another tip if you use it outdoors. , do not rely on waterproof! The cheap glue on the back doubles as a seal for the contacts on the back of the strip, whoever came up with that! If you need to be waterproof, remove the attached cheap tape, clean with wipes, seal the contacts AND both ends of the tape with liquid tape (e.g. here: Gardner Bender LTB-400 Liquid Tape, Black), then bring 3M on. Ribbon. So the led strip is not the best quality but you can improve it with a little work and time, for the price they are good. And if you follow the above steps, you will surely avoid short circuits like those described by other customers. This thing isn't waterproof, if you want it, do what I did and you're good to go (just make sure your wires are protected and sealed, too).
