Review on WD 4TB My Passport Portable External Hard Drive - USB 3.0 - Black (WDBYFT0040BBK-WESN) by John Ghattamaraju

Bought a 4TB drive on Feb 26th, it worked great until suddenly yesterday it stopped working and my computer doesn't recognize it. The light is on and I can hear the hard drive spinning, but some computers don't recognize it. I contacted Western Digital and they sent me a new one, but data recovery isn't usually part of the warranty. The next day I called Western Digital back to discuss data recovery and why a 2 month old device is not covered. I spoke to Eunice (A++ Service), she spoke to her manager because my device is only 2 months old. Western Digital stepped up and did the right thing and allowed me to ship the unit back to them to have the data restored and put it on a new 4TB My Passport drive for free. It will cost me $400-$900 from a third party unless Western Digital allows me to send it back for data recovery. Thank you for supporting your product and doing the right thing. Thanks to your actions today, I will be buying more CDs from you in the future. A HUGE thank you to Eunice from Western Digital and your managers, your understanding and actions are greatly appreciated, you now have a loyal customer for life.
