I bought this as a gift for a friend who is a true "workaholic” and rarely leaves her office. Five of us went on "girlfriends getaway” cruise to Mexico and my friend loved this hat! The embroidered script not only made it fun, but it was large enough to keep her face protected from the sun. Unlike the hats everyone else had, she was able to easily fold it up when not wearing and put it in her bag. The hat kept it’s shape no matter how she folded it.However, by the end of the cruise the black ribbon was becoming detached. The stitching on the inside of the hat where the inner brim and liner band (this hat does not have an actual liner band/sweatband) was also unraveling.My friend wore this hat everyday while on vacation. In the water, heat, on excursions, etc. This could have contributed to the quick breakdown of the materials.I believe this hat is perfect for vacation, but better suited for light use.
