Review on πŸ–₯️ AEONS 6U Server Network Rack Enclosure - 19-Inch Wall Mount Network Cabinet in Black (Fully Assembled) by Joe Kokenge

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Not very well put together. NULL documentation. Only a few parts are included.

Although this is a closed metal box that will house your network gear, it's pretty flimsy. There are dents and deformations on the metal structures. There are no instructions included. Although it's supposed to be a 6U rack, it only includes nuts for 2 1/2 devices (10 cage nuts and 13 screws!). Also, there are several different nuts, the purpose of which remains a mystery. The door is double sided but hardly hangs from the frame as the frame is curved. The hinge consists of a spring-loaded end, which is quite strong, and a free double-sided axle that freely enters the holes provided, so the door always flexes at an angle with a diagonal gap around the door itself. It closes and latches well, but the lock is hardly worth the trouble if someone can hit it hard and knock the door out of position. (I don't really need a lock. I just wanted a deadbolt, but this one had a lock.) The screws have a star head and a small wrench is included to tighten them. Why a special key/screwdriver? Who knows? What's wrong with the standard Philips head? Don't lose this key! I was a bit disappointed with this device due to the poor build quality and the diverse hardware. There seems to be a hook on the back for hanging on the wall but no opposite hook for attaching to the mall. The hook is as thin as the body metal and welded in two places. It bends easily and doesn't look secure when filled with gear. I will most likely have to drill holes in the back and attach with large screws and washers to be on the safe side. However, this is a rudimentary box for your gear, protecting it from accidental damage. I wouldn't recommend it if you're looking for something that will look great in a finished space. I also don't recommend it if you're looking for a durable and secure case. It feels like I bought it at a flea market. The only saving grace with this device is the rack itself. The rack cage is strong and precise. It will also support more than 6U. It's technically 8U, but the top and bottom slots are above and below the front panel. If you have a device that does not require front access (such as a power supply), you can mount it on the bottom of the rack. However, you can only put 2 screws in it as there is no way to put a screwdriver through the front bar to turn the screws. I installed a delayed power regulator in this slot. I was able to tighten the top two screws. I left the bottom two hand tightened.

Pros
  • Great selection
Cons
  • Nothing here
