I bought the steamer mainly for steaming frozen fish and frozen chicken breast. I chose this device because of the timer function and two steam compartments. The steamer works well. I was surprised at how well it steams frozen chicken breasts. Cleaning by hand can be problematic as food can get stuck in the small grooves. This unit is dishwasher safe but takes up a lot of space in the DW. The device also takes up a lot of countertop space, so think about where you're going to use it and where you're going to store it.
