The label on the battery reads: FenzerBG0110 Battery for BATT-5R6.0v 700mAh Ni-MH Important: charge 16 hours before first use I would try to charge for 16 hours but the charge indicator does not even light up on these two batteries in the Midland GXT1000 . The one that worked, the charger lit up, the battery (usually) warmed up and held a charge. Update 05/17/2015: Seller (People's March and done by ecoswift.com) sent two replacement batteries and unfortunately they don't last. or charge. I return defective batteries and keep the working ones; I ordered genuine Midland batteries direct from Amazon instead of going through all the hassle for a few bucks less.
