So yes, it's 10U. 10U high. The top and bottom 1U are used for the frame, so 8U can be used. Then there are parts on the rear frame that aren't fully open and cover the parts of Us 2 and 9, so it's now 6U fully suitable for full-depth rack mount equipment. Mounting it on a wall isn't a problem, but if you're hoping to mount something that protrudes from the back, keep that in mind and maybe upgrade to the 15U or 20U options they offer. I would like as it would effectively double the usable area. But for now it will do its job and I don't think I'll be expanding my home cluster any time soon. Assembly was easy, although I couldn't tighten one screw properly. Probably a defect in one block, which didn't prevent me from completing the setup.
