Washing was a mistake, they were poorly made, couldn't iron them! flat
So I took them apart and examined the fabric and how it was cut. The lines were not used at all, it was carelessly put together. I figured whoever put them together didn't really know anything about sewing, and it was a very easy thing to sew. So I trimmed the edges with strips, making sure the edges matched, and French stitched both sides, then cut out. End straight and folded and sewn hole. It took a while but now I have a pair of pillowcases that are easy to care for. In the photo, the opening shows the crumpled fabric after washing, it was impossible to iron!
