Let me first say that the CD I received was NOT an 8x CD. My computer will not write slower than 16x unless using a lower rated CD. This CD was useless to me as I needed my computer to record at 8x so the software in my Harley stereo could be updated. 8x is the maximum allowable write speed. Luckily I was able to find software to downgrade to my desired speed, but the drive was returned to the seller. If you want a true 8x CD then look elsewhere. The one I got was 16x I think.
