The only downside is that there is little wax in this "waxed cord". There is enough wax in it that the line still on the spool will not wear out if left alone. My photo shows a spool and piece of cord I cut off five weeks ago to use for a necklace. After five weeks of constant wear (even while sleeping) you may notice that the cord looks very dry and the ends are definitely frayed at the knot. However, the cable itself costs quite well. This combined with what you get for the price makes it a solid four stars. I was a little dismayed that it came in bubble wrap (hence the broken spool) but the cable itself would be fine.
