Review on Canon Wireless Professional Software Printing by Ryan Olsen

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good quality printer (and YES, it comes with ink.)

First of all, previous reviewers' claim that ink doesn't come with it is dead wrong. If they hadn't ripped open the box like an 8 year old did for Christmas, they might have noticed that the 8 ink cartridges are sandwiched between two pieces of cardboard at the top (first thing I noticed when I opened the box, also an 8, 5 x 11 paper sample gloss) SMH. With that in mind, the printer was also very easy to set up. It took me 30 minutes (with or without time) to unbox, set up, calibrate and print. there are no photos. Apparently the other negative reviewer hasn't touched the printer for about 20-30 years. but it has paper instructions (in multiple languages) with step-by-step instructions on what to do, and if you can't read there's an animation of the steps on the printer's display itself. (If you don't see the ., you probably should anyway don't buy a printer.) Third. The printer is a beast. Since it's 25 inches wide, make sure you have enough space to install it. (albeit smaller than previous models), but it prints on 13 x 19 paper, so it's larger than your standard cheap Walmart models. The printer needs a little time to "warm up" or shake out the ink. So if you haven't used it for a while, this can happen. it is perfectly normal. It's a bit loud, but it doesn't sound like live heavy metal noise. I would have liked a bigger screen AND a touchscreen, but that's personal preference. (I did a lot of research before investing in this device, so I already knew the screen and was fine with it compared to my printing needs, which were a higher priority.) The printer quality is EXCELLENT. I'm a Graphic Designer/Illustrator working on a wide range of artworks, from portraits and landscapes in oils to comic book illustrations. The color is bright and seamless. This means I couldn't see any jet "dots" in the colors even under a magnifying glass. . Better than printing with staples or Office Max. After having trouble printing MY OWN illustrations I decided to invest in a large format printer. The inks only seem to be available directly from Canon (currently) and I found 2 other online resources that also offer them. (unfortunately not on Revain at the moment) and even a few colors are in reserve. I'm pretty sure the pandemic is making mass production harder. This printer and cartridges (CLI-65) were released at the end of 2020, so they are relatively new to the market. Each of the 8 colors costs about $13.99, or $105 for all in one pack. In general, it's a good idea to buy ink as you need it, as some colors run out quicker than others. They also come with an installation CD, but you can also download them from the Canin website (also included in the docs). I think Canon Printing Software is ok, I haven't used it much (I'll find out more about that later), but it offers a lot of setting options. For now, however, I prefer and print from the Photoshop interface. which is faster for me. I've found that for best results, you should tell Photoshop's (and Canon's software) print menu what paper you're printing on. The printer itself also has an auto-detect or bypass setting. I take the extra step of setting the paper style myself as it may or may not recognize other brands of paper. So far I've used Canon Luster, Glossy II, Staples Matte and they all give great results. (and intend to get more styles and brands to test in the future, especially metallic paper) Printer also supports wireless (tested and working) Airplay supports Apple products (haven't tried it yet) Not sure about Android, but could probably use wifi for that too. It has an Ethernet port and a USB-B port for connecting a computer/laptop directly to the printer. Unfortunately there is no standard USB for flash drives or SD card slots. That's all I can think of at the moment.
