I have an Asus ROG-G703xxx 17 inch gaming laptop. This laptop gets very hot especially when I compile code. Sudden drop in core voltage with all cores running at 100% during long compiles, keeping frequency high so compile time is reduced (24/7) and drowns out any noise from the cooler (which is actually minimal). I connected the USB to a separate power panel and left my USB ports bare, which works great since the controls are on the front of the cooler. My only complaint is that I don't know how much I trust cheap non-slip plastic sheets to keep the laptop from sliding on the floor. If you have a thin and light laptop this shouldn't be a problem (my laptop is two years old old). inches thick).
