Review on Edifier R1280T Active Bookshelf Speakers - 2.0 Stereo Near Field Monitors - Wooden Enclosure - 42 Watts RMS - Ideal for Studio Monitoring by Ar Bl Srivastava ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The best thing for the money, I'm glad I chose this option.

I purchased them in order to have a TV in the kitchen. Unfortunately, the acoustics in the kitchen are not conducive to proper functioning. There are blinds on the window instead of curtains in this room. As a result, resonances can be found at low levels. It's a shame there aren't any special loops for hanging, because I had to ruin the walls and, as a result, void the warranty on the speakers. Nevertheless, I did the best I could to position them, and I hung them on brackets by drilling holes in them with self-tapping screws. But that's precisely my issue:) The speakers have a lot of power, and both the music and the movies have a fantastic sound quality. Especially when it comes to music! The speaker's manufacturer suggests keeping a gap of one meter and fifty centimeters between each pair of speakers. Have this in mind at all times! The distance between the columns is 100 centimeters, which is probably not enough. Yet, the stereo panorama is still passable despite the great distance. Despite 2.0, the effects in movies can sometimes even cause you to gaze in the opposite direction. In general, the most important thing is to make sure that your room and kitchen are ready for such speakers before you buy them. This will prevent you from being disappointed. Your space is responsible for eighty percent of the sound's success. Position the speakers such that they create a symmetrical pattern in relation to the walls and that the left and right sides of each speaker are at the same distance from the walls. I've done a terrible job with this; on the left is a window that's only 20 centimeters wide, and on the right is the entire kitchen. And I think that sound is fantastic!

Pros
  • - a great sound - a remote control that is really helpful
Cons
  • There is nowhere on the rear that is specifically designed for mounting on the wall.
