I used these for windowsills and ledges outside so cats don't sit on ledges and dig up the plants I have on ledges. I've also used it to prevent cats from perching outside my security camera, causing movement and blocking the view. Once placed on ledges, this seemed to deter most cats. Though it's greatly improved, it doesn't drive away all cats. There are a few vagrants who have yet learned to walk on or between their spikes. Although they no longer walk or sit on it, they will approach and dig up plants. It wasn't full proof, but there were some improvements. I was hoping for 100% containment, but now I'm taking 75%. They are also very difficult to keep untwisted and flat.
