This is my first mic so I have no info on how it compares to others but I really like this mic boom. I'm currently using it with the Yeti Nano mic. When I was looking for a mic boom I wanted one that was strong, good looking and slim looking. It tested all these boxes for a really good price. I once reviewed several models at lower prices and the main issue I had was the springs. I didn't like the look of open feathers - again I wanted something smooth. In general, the hand works well. No performance issues. The base clamp looks narrow, but once I clamp it...it's very stable. edge of the movement is good. You can tilt your hand toward the top or bottom microphone. I think one reviewer mentioned that the hand was too stiff. I didn't think so. Also, I believe you can adjust the tension in each of the joints with an allen wrench.
