Review on 🐠 Betta Fish Tank: 2 Gallon Glass Aquarium with Filter and Light - Ideal for Betta Fish, Shrimp, Goldfish - Desktop Small Fish Tank (White) by Michelle Marsden

Revainrating 4 out of 5

A good sized tank; However, there are a few flaws and the quality is mediocre at best.

I had a betta emergency a few days ago when I discovered my 10 gallon glass aquarium was leaking at the base/skin and 1/4 of the water was slowly leaking all around. Floor. I quickly cleaned up the mess, packed my betta and two snails in a small cube travel container, and immediately went on a search for a betta aquarium in Revane. That's when I came across this 3 gallon betta aquarium with LED light and filter (nothing else included). Being able to receive it within two days, I immediately placed my order and patiently awaited the arrival of the new tank. The package arrived very quickly within the promised period. After unpacking the tank, the first thing I noticed was the typical funny plastic/chemical smell from the manufacture of the tank. The more you air the aquarium over time, the more the smell will dissipate. The next important challenge is "Glass". This is not typical (real) aquarium glass but a plexiglass material (I prefer real glass but this is a more durable option). Walls are clean with rounded corners, overall this wasn't a deal breaker for me. I examined the tank further, removed parts, and the next thing I noticed was a crack in the plastic on the outside of the housing that contains the filter. As I continued to unpack the parts, I inspected the rest of the tank. The glue is very poorly applied to the bottom of the tank, the lid has a few scuffs inside and out, and there is a thin piece of cardboard on the bottom covering the bottom from the outside of the tank. Filter and filter tube do not match. flush, due to the imperfection of the design of the black rubber inflow. Inserting a black rubber knot into the marked white molding spot on the plastic that encloses it will twist the attached filter tube (where the water exits into the filter housing) (it will be lifted higher than it on the right). is on the left). ). The cap will not detach from the tank which is frustrating when trying to fit parts into the tank. This is where the next design frustration comes in. In the right rear corner of the gas cap is a molded gap through which the cables must be routed. The problem is that you can't just slide the plug through the hole because the hole is too small / the plugs are too big. In order for the wires to get into this gap, the lid must be closed 1/2, which creates a very small gap between the hinge of the lid and the rim of the tank (see fig 10). You have to squeeze, slide and wiggle each wire one at a time until they finally slide through the mini gap and into the wire gap in the gas cap. The frustration isn't quite over, the next problem is that when you try to fill your tank with your gravel and decor, the lid keeps falling back. If you don't want to constantly struggle with dropping the lid and picking it back up, I grabbed a plastic picnic knife and wedged it into the lid's rear right corner hinge to keep it from closing while I gathered everything in the tank. Finally with everything assembled, I filled my new tank with treated water, moved it to a new location and hooked everything up. As I said, I let the tank run for 24 hours. During this time I found that the light gave off a nice bright glow, the feeder's 'door' on the right front corner of the lid is handy and allows for easy and clean dispensing of the feed. After 24 hours, the lack of leaks in the tank was confirmed (hooray!). I've moved my betta and two snails to their new home and so far so good, they seem to be enjoying their new tank. Overall I give 4 out of 5 stars due to the overall quality and the flaws and difficulties with the assembly (especially the wires). While I'm happy with the betta tank, I find it a bit overpriced compared to what I received.
