From a distance it really looks like a Rolx Dtna 1165OO. This Pagani-branded mecha-quartz (thanks Seiko) isn't really trying to fake a Rolx, though. The dials are arranged differently. The inscriptions on the bezel are different. The hour markers are different. There is no red writing around the center dial. However, it REALLY reflects the combination of design elements that Rolx has so cleverly engineered for this version of their utilitarian, sporty tool watch. To be honest, I was looking for a Rolx tribute because I'm finally sick of Rolx as a company that puts regular customers on waiting lists when they give away products to the world's high rollers, no matter when you reserve your spot in line I think that's pretty much the point of being a high roller. Well, F is. So it's kind of a revenge watch. But what a happy impulse. This VK63 movement is accurate so far. Chono works fine. At least it is protected from swimming. The body is a bit flat compared to the Rolx Oystr. Pedestrian grade stainless steel is NOT as clear and bright as the typical Rolx 904L blend of stainless steel. Only note: I chose the blackface version. In the photos, the dial looks legible. Between the chrome hands/markers and the highly reflective glass, I have a truly horrible reading experience. And of course the lum is useless so forget it. In general, I liked the thing so much that I ordered a model with a white dial, which I think is much easier to read. I used to ride trains with a couple of watch snobs (among whom I count myself) and when they see this Pagani I like to say, "Oh fuck no! Hundred Dollar Chinese Seiko. And with the rest of $19,900 I'm going to build a stable for my horses.
