Worked fine for at least a year and I think it still works in my friend's car. I have the best bluetooth receiver due to some minor annoyances with this one. I'm not sure if this claims to be able to make or receive calls, but it doesn't. The biggest problem with this bluetooth receiver is that it is clearly outdated even when I bought it over a year ago. I'm stuck on the iPhone 4S a few months after it came out, so by many people's standards I have an outdated phone. My iPhone 4S won't connect to the product until I go into Settings and click Forget This Device every time I try to connect. I have a very old iPod touch (probably 2nd or 3rd gen, 64GB, no camera) that was able to connect by just clicking on the Bluetooth device name, but that was the only device. I tried to connect my MacBook Pro to the device and it said it couldn't for some reason. This is possibly similar with all Bluetooth devices as I haven't tried it since I bought a new Bluetooth receiver. This device does not automatically connect to any of my Apple devices and needs to be turned on each time you want to use it. It will turn itself off if disconnected for a period of time (probably 5 minutes or less). There's only one button, making it easy to remember who turns it on, turns it off, and connects to new devices (or old devices). Definitely not the best Bluetooth receiver, but it will work. The charger is a USB socket that plugs into the side of the device. There is no problem with charging, but if you don't have a USB socket within 30 cm of the AUX input, you should use another product. The product plays music and works properly while charging. I recommend the Kinivo BTC450 because it stays plugged into an outlet, the plug has an available USB port that I use to charge my phone, you can make phone calls, and I haven't heard any complaints about the volume of my voice, even when The device is connected to my switch.
