Got this to install a slim optical drive on my HTPC. This allows me to use standard SATA/power cables. This adapter allowed me to fit an optical drive and a USB card reader/hub into a 5.25" chassis slot with a combo mounting kit. The adapter is well made and inexpensive. If you have a small case you may need to use the smaller version, but this one was perfect for me. Note: Please make sure this will work with your optical drive before purchasing. Manufacturers use proprietary connectors and this one is for the standard -SATA type connectors.
