I would give this product 0 stars if I could. It's useless if you have a Y-iron, trust me. I will upload photos or videos later to show exactly that. When properly installed, it will not hold Y-shaped ironing boards as the hooks will expand as long as weight is on them. They hold onto the board's legs for a split second, and once it slides low enough, it takes a few seconds for it to collapse. I actually don't think it's safe at all. I tried to improvise (out of desperation) and used a stiff rubber band to keep the hooks as close as possible, but the whole project didn't look like it was worth the money or effort. In addition, it turned out to be weak, cheap, and, in turn, dangerous. I ended up sending it back and lost money on the return. you have been warned
