I had to replace the dome on my granddaughter's 5 gallon aquarium because the LED strip had died. He was only a few months old and should have lasted longer, but. Maybe it was a marriage or the light strip is leaking (there were bubbles in the strip). It could have been soap bubbles. Who knows. So I bought the exact same hood with the same light. It was very easy to snap the light strip into place. It provides enough light for a small aquarium. Cuttings work with filtration and feed system. A hinged lid or removing the feed hood is not required. So far, so good. We'll have to wait and see how long this lasts.
