The original 9v adapter that came with my wifi router has really bad coil whine. It used to be just far enough away that I rarely noticed it, but I recently moved things around and it ended up in a spot where the noise echoes straight into my ears at my desk.I wasn't able to find anything specifically for my router and ended up choosing this one for the specs vs price, and for the trustworthy brand. Unfortunately, I didn't think to check if the pinouts were the same, and found out the DC connector on the Brother adapter uses an inverted configuration compared with my router's adapter:Brother DC connector: Outer shell is 9v, inner shell is groundMy router: Outer shell is ground, inner shell is 9vThankfully, with a few snips of a wire cutter/stripper, some spare wire terminals, and electrical tape, I'm finally free to browse the internet at my desk in relative silence!
