Adhesive on cabinet hardware was weak

I bought these because they were flimsy and I thought I could use them on the Ikea Kallax shelving doors I just bought. They weren't thin enough to fit between the door and the shelf (no big deal), so we wrapped them up to make them work natively. A few days later I wanted to open the door and the tape wasn't holding the magnet in place. They'll probably work better if they're screwed on, but we bought them for the glue option, which didn't work.
