Review on Reloop Turntable Cartridge Spherical Scratching by Steven Lane

Revainrating 4 out of 5

5 grams and what do you get?

Recently played vinyl records again. Discover the world of OCD (Obsessive Compulsive) record ownership. Use this cartridge and the mini clip-on microscope on my iPhone camera to inspect/repair protruding scratches. Look, listen, press lightly on the cartridge with your finger or a small modeling brush pen and a 5 gram needle will definitely help smooth out the gaps depending on how deep the scratches are. Doesn't work on deep scratches that make a popping sound with each needle hit. You can also try a toothpick in the grooves of the record, although it's not an exact science. It's amazing to look at the grooves of the vinyl records through a mini microscope.

Pros
  • a practical thing
Cons
  • so far, so good
