This digital thermometer can measure BODY/FRONT temperature and SURFACE temperature on other surfaces/objects. You can change the SIMPLE mode from C to F by pressing the C/F button. It features an AUTOMATIC shutdown after about 5 seconds of inactivity, which extends the life of the battery and the product. It is COMPACT AND fits easily in my hand. To turn it on, pull the trigger. Hold the gun over the area you want to measure, then pull the trigger to take a reading. The default mode when turning on the device is to measure BODY TEMPERATURE. Press the MODE button to SWITCH from BODY to SURFACE TEMPERATURE. BODY TEMPERATURE mode is indicated by a smiley face on the screen. The surface temperature mode is indicated by the BOTTLE on the screen. At first I wasn't sure what the baby bottle symbol was, then I realized it was a baby bottle, which is a weird symbol to me as it's an ALL age thermometer. To me maybe a baby bottle means special treatment for babies, not the surface temperature of something that isn't human, because NOT all parents use baby bottles for their baby/babies, and not everyone has or can have children. It's not a big deal, but it deserves a mention. I find the thermometer EASY to use, RELIABLE and EASY to read. The video shows him heating cold and hot tap water. temp which is a way to check ACCURACY. Some people think warming up the wrist is safer than bouncing red light off the gland, so I can confirm the readings agree.
