Mouse pad! as small as it is, it does very well! the back always catches no matter how many times I move it. The only downside is that the "palm rest" isn't as soft as I'd hoped, and it's not exactly heaven on earth when my "carpal tunnel surgery" scar falls on a not-so-soft one palm rest hits. But to be honest, it works exactly as advertised and takes up almost no space. The palm rest is the perfect support for those who don't have an annoying scar and I highly recommend it as hopefully it will help you avoid carpal tunnel! Also got one for my teenager and his dedicated gaming mouse. Although it's small, none of us have "slipped" off the tablet and we're definitely real gaming geeks/nerds etc. Overall very durable and definitely worth the price!
