In my case I needed to fit two SSDs in a 3.5" bay of a small server. SATA and power cables are already provided and supplied by the RAID controller. This adapter places the two SSDs too close together to use the existing (combo) SATA/power connectors. In a more typical configuration, using the supplied cables This is not a problem. Another problem I had was that with two SSDs installed and the entire assembly snapped into the Dell drive carrier, the carrier was not level due to the adapter being bent. With a regular 3.5" drive in the bracket, everything is fine. With this in the holder, it is not straight and will not slip into the compartment. In general, this adapter has its uses and works in some scenarios, but it is not a universal adapter.
