****************************** UPDATE 28. October , 2016 ************************************* Separated by a silver band on the left earcup . Although the sound was good, almost comparable to high-end, a headphone that lasts about 6 months is $25? I think you get what you pay for. Save your five cents and buy a pair of Bose if you're looking for a pair of buds that will get you through the long haul. Otherwise, these are just short-term buds. Great looking headphones with a great choice of ear tips. Physically they appear solid (except for the photos posted by one reviewer where there is a split around the aluminum ring) and aesthetically pleasing. But the real reason I bought them is the sound quality. While I wouldn't claim these are the best headphones I've ever owned, they are certainly an upgrade over any standard set of headphones that comes with a phone, device or gadget. I ran them through different scenarios. First my tablet. The sound is a big upgrade over the standard speaker built into the tablet. I often play Marvel's Contest of Champions on my tablet, and while testing I've heard much more nuanced in-game sound effects (Quinjet landing on the roof of the Avengers Tower stage, raindrops on the Savage Land stage). . I then played some YouTube sound effect clips. Civil War, Doctor Strange and Dawn of Justice sound ten times better than the standard speaker, the highs are noticeably cleaner and the bass is punchy and doesn't sound like my pug fart. Then I streamed a few songs. This is where I got excited. Music sounded clear, bass was responsive, but nothing to rock your body like Bose or Sennheiser. The songs I played were: Oasis - Champagne Supernova, Notorious BIG - Juicy, Linkin Park - My December (Reanimation version), Chemical Brothers - Block Rockin' Beats, and the Marvelite in me couldn't resist Hooked On A Feeling . - Blue Swede (1973! This song is mine!). Aside from the crappy taste in music, I thought it was a good introduction to the music for the day. Unfortunately I have not listened to any of my solo piano works to appreciate this. Again, every song sounded better than a standard tablet speaker or some of the Bluetooth speakers I've listened to, but not at the level of premium headphones. But let's be realistic: these are $26 headphones. You can't expect them to sound like Bose, Sennheiser or Audio Technica. This is unreasonably absurd. The $26 headphones look damn cool, sound great, and are definitely worth the money. I doubt you'll hear better for the price. I always criticize a product with one question: Would I give it to a friend? The answer here is undoubtedly yes. I'll use them until they either fall down the toilet (something happens, okay) or my pug thinks they're food (he's fat and happy). Accordingly, they are worth 4 stars. I'd give 4 1/2 if I could, but in this case I round down. An exceptional product for the price (both technically and aesthetically). Hope that helps.
