Review on Rancho RS999316 RS9000XL Shock Absorber by Jason Dahlkemper

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Overrated junk good for vibration and shock absorption

I should have known when it took me 6 tries to get two shocks straight out of the box that weren't damaged or faulty that they weren't worth it were the price. Finally getting my hands on two that appeared to work properly with no body dents or broken adjuster knobs, I installed them on my truck. The ONLY thing they have is that they are regulated. After a week or two, the shock absorber on the passenger side of the truck began to rattle every time it hit a pothole. I thought it was a truck. I set it to 7 because I'm towing a caravan so I lowered it to 4 for every driving day and the knocking got worse! I can not explain. It only sounded like it was free, but it was all true. The shock had no leaks that I was ever aware of. that's easy. Scrap metal! Never again, Rancho. I installed a couple of Bilsteins this morning. They feel great, the rattle is gone, and they're almost half the price of the 2017 Ranchos F-150 4x4.
