The hub does the job for me on a 2017 MacBook Pro and I have no complaints. Feel and workmanship are impeccable, the color is almost identical to my MacBook in space gray. The hub only gets lukewarm even when used continuously throughout the working day and does its job perfectly. It has been my experience that competitively priced products are very different and certainly do not have a positive effect on the service life if such a hub boils. We should also not forget that excessive heat also eats up (precious) battery power. Energy is wasted here. All interfaces work perfectly, HDMI with 4k@30Hz also without problems. I could not find any problems with WiFi or Bluetooth. Another big advantage is that this hub is permanently connected to the laptop with two USB-C interfaces, which ensures much more mechanical stability than hubs that only vibrate at one interface.
