I had problems with a project I'm working on that were resolved immediately when I replaced these bobbins with ones I wound myself with Brother brand thread. The seller is sure that the yarn is polyester and I will check it with a match. if i get the chance If so, and it may be that the thread on the spool doesn't look, feel, or have the texture like the same weight polyester spool thread I use and more consistent with cotton. I have the feeling, he grabs stuff and pulls on it and all the problems i have had were related to these spools (it could also be a problem with the spool itself and i will check when it runs out and i can wind it up with my own line) . I'll continue to use the pre-wound coils I bought and try to find a workaround with tension adjustment etc. I didn't follow the seller's suggestion to change the coils but appreciate their attention to customer service.
