We got this dollhouse for our 3 year old son for Christmas. He's wanted one for a long time, and I've spent a lot of time researching our options. We love this dollhouse! It comes with furniture, but we've received a number of accessories for the children's room and plan to get a dining room as well. Pros: - Furnished: my son loves the attention to detail. Open drawers, open the oven and refrigerator, lower the toilet seat. There is a small rubber duck, mats, a small coffee maker, two towels and a pot with a lid. It's great that there are so many accessories! They stack up but we plan on making one or two for birthdays etc - my son loved that you can flip the roof panels from green summer vibes to white snow. He turns them around depending on the weather of the day: Everything is made of wood, some details are brightly painted. So far I haven't noticed any cracks, chips or paint chips. - Easy assembly: it took me about half an hour to unpack and assemble. Tip: Don't overtighten! - Imaginative Play: You buy the family separately and Caucasian, African American and Asian families are available. These numbers are mobile. This dollhouse is great for all ages - kids are always drawn to it when they come. Even my 11 year old loves decorating the rooms! Cons: The balcony in our set is slightly sloping, so there is a slope. Nothing bad, but inconvenient - the door of our dollhouse would not close. This is driving my son insane. So I used a small piece of thin sticky felt to fix the problem. Also note that the door only pushes - which I found annoying but my kids don't seem to care - there are a few VERY small parts that pose a hazard to young children - we hold them in place and then give them my child. when he is playing - Stairs: There are two flights of stairs and they are right between the floors you have chosen. To be honest, either there are no stairs or there are stationary stairs! My son always asks why there aren't enough stairs because there should be five sets. Because they aren't attached (so you can take them to different places), a small child can't get the dolls to go up or down the stairs without falling down the whole staircase. This is a source of frustration for my child. Overall we are happy with our purchase. I wouldn't call it heirloom quality but I'm sure all three of my boys will play with it. For the price we are very happy with our purchase!
