It works, and the built-in lumbar support is definitely better than nothing. When I'm sure I can get my ass all the way back, the lumbar spine helps. The seat is quite wide and deep, but quite hard. Not much padding, so I often use a seat cushion. Also, use an extra wooden pillow depending on how she's feeling at the moment. I like that you can raise your arms to the side. The height adjustment works well but doesn't lift me as high as my old chair. My old chair had a lot of height but the armrests were so tight they crashed into the table. I bought this one because it had movable armrests, but as it turns out the chair still doesn't rise high enough for the armrests to not touch the table.
