These pictures are great but the instructions are not. You need to know. For each snap you will need two identical button-like pieces and one male and one female insert. Don't worry about which, just pick two that are different. Poke a hole in the fabric with a small awl and insert a pin. Then select the tab end to insert at that point. Make sure the flatter part of the insert rests on the fabric, then use your fingers to pinch it together as much as needed. To hold it together while you get the pliers. The flat part of the thumbtack goes against the black part of the pliers and the insert with the outside or inside against the transparent rubber part. ties everything together so carefully line it up and press together Repeat well with the other button and "feminine" (or just other) panel, remembering that the flatter side goes to the fabric. It takes me about 10 seconds to attach one. If you don't press hard enough, the dots will interfere with the button closure and it will also easily come off your fabric. I thought you could also compress heavily and destroy everything, but I'm not that strong. I've already put them on a few bibs and will be using them for credit card holders, tote bags to hold my kitchen towels on a towel rail etc. They're a bit cheap/plastic but do the job for most applications.
