Review on JMR Grey 62X80 Wool Blanket by Clare Thoms

Undoubted smell and greasy coating

I have had many woolen clothes in my life. Pants, sweaters, socks, stockings, scarves, blankets and gloves. Some old army wool, some merino wool, some lambswool; 85% to 100% wool. New, old, used, badly cared for, fresh, straight off my smelly feet after a 16 hour day in boots, and I've never smelled that smell on any wool I've ever owned. There may have been some purchases from other sellers, or they got lucky, but there is NO INTENSIVE and unnatural chemical odor emanating from either blanket I purchased. They also leave a greasy stain on the skin if touched for a long time. I've washed them twice and tumble dried them. The smell hasn't diminished enough to make it comfortable to use; Fat residues have decreased. They were quite flimsy and rough out of the box, but after the 2nd low tumble dry they were a bit fluffy. They lose a little, but most virgin wool items lose. If I can get rid of the smell, they're good for their intended purpose. Unless. unfortunately I have to look for another option.

Pros
  • Impressive
