Bad smell. in linens

Should have looked at the reviews. There was a very bad order. I washed it immediately to get rid of the smell, it still smells a little. After washing, it faded so badly in my washing machine that it blocked my spin cycle. Holds up like a furry animal. What a mess. I tumble dried it after a few cycles and it squeaked a bit because of the wool. It's finally becoming a warm blanket, but not as big as it used to be. Add a little Downey fabric softener to your laundry to solve odor problems. It…

quality product! on duvets

This blanket is great! That's big! It covers the entire full size bed and then part of it in our guest room. color rich anthracite; and softer than expected. Every rug has an odor. I put mine in the dryer with six sheets of fabric softener for 40 minutes. After that time, I took out the blanket, cleaned the lint filter, put in six more sheets of fabric, and let the cycle run on low for another 40 minutes. This blanket is well made! I just ordered two more! lwines

Terrible. for comforters

This is not a "military rug" like you know from boot camp, this is what I was honestly looking for. I wanted a good wool blanket that was lightweight and kept me warm, instead I got a blanket that smelled horribly of chemicals. Of course, in typical Revain fashion, it was misleadingly advertised as a "military rug for emergencies or everyday use", I can assure you that is far from the case. You literally get a U-Haul style swaddle blanket. Well it's a joke. Stay away from it, trust me.

Blanket as a GIFT to a family member; So I didn't unroll the blanket right away. When I did this, I found a cut about 3 inches long in one of the inner folds. I believe it was accidentally done with a box cutter or utility knife when unpacking. Of course, after the 30-day return, I did not return. My Opinion: The quality control could possibly be improved by the seller. I love the quilt so now I'm trying to find the right thread to fix it. I would buy again. The duvet itself is of very good…

Undoubted smell and greasy coating

I have had many woolen clothes in my life. Pants, sweaters, socks, stockings, scarves, blankets and gloves. Some old army wool, some merino wool, some lambswool; 85% to 100% wool. New, old, used, badly cared for, fresh, straight off my smelly feet after a 16 hour day in boots, and I've never smelled that smell on any wool I've ever owned. There may have been some purchases from other sellers, or they got lucky, but there is NO INTENSIVE and unnatural chemical odor emanating from either blanket…

Better than expected

Wool blankets have a natural scent and this is no exception. Maybe I was too prepared for the overwhelming and repulsive smell, but it wasn't bad or even uncomfortable for me. However, after washing in cold water on a gentle cycle and drying on a low temperature as indicated on the packaging, the odor is clearly gone. Some of the rug reviews on Revain swear there's a strong smell of oil due to the moth or fireproofing, but that's the natural smell you're smelling. The manufacturer claims that…
