I'm on my third one now. I can't recall what happened to the original three, but numbers two and three are still with us. It's incredible, and I don't regret a thing. Those who are unhappy have apparently encountered a subpar offering. To my ears, high-quality sound has always been huge. Koss only started getting counterparts during the past year or so, and headset prices haven't come down much in that time. The initial and last batches both use a "L" shaped connector, which is extremely durable and cannot be broken. However, a newer version, introduced about 4 years ago, features a straight connector, which is noticeably weaker but still surprisingly alive.
