Despite using packing cubes and a very detailed clothing packing system, I continued to use plastic bags for groceries (ugh!) Done. I searched and found various types of shoe bags for travel, but they were either too big and took up too much room in the suitcase (especially the cubic shape), or they were made of a stiffer nylon fabric that didn't stretch. too much space, or they could not be machine washed. (I just couldn't shake the idea of putting dirty shoes in the same bag without being able to wash them! That's why I don't use plastic bags!) I finally stumbled across these and they are perfect! Aside from being washable, compared to some others I've found I like that the fabric is thin and conforms to the shoe almost like a second skin without taking up too much space. And unlike some others that are designed to fit a pair in a single bag, you can only fit one shoe in a bag for more efficient packing. (I put one shoe between the rods of the hard luggage and the others outside.) While you can probably fit a pair of women's shoes of almost any style in a bag, in the case of men's shoes, you probably will only fit one shoe in the bag. . My husband wears a size 10.5D and can only fit one dress/shoes in one bag. I wear a 7.5 and can fit a regular pair of 2.5-3" heels (no platforms) or wedges in one or more pairs of flip flops. While not for everyone, I have them in black, neon and burgh/ Bought navy blue/grey so I could match them a bit to the color of my shoes for easy identification in the suitcase.To wash I put them in a delicate bag and air dried them with no problem.
