After having bought 3 messenger bags and not being satisfied, I saw this one and thought I'd give it a try. Good decision! This is an excellent bag. The leather is thick, rich and I know it will last for years. At first, the bag was a little stiff but mine has softened in just about a months use. I rubbed mink oil on all outside surfaces and that gave the bag a slightly darker shade and a softer feel. I did it twice, a week apart. I recommend doing that every so often. Great purse. Looks great and once I put my Bible, notebook and wallet in with other items it is wonderful. It holds its shape so it’s not flimsy and floppy. Smells good like real leather. Because it is real leather. When you open this purse it holds its shape and that has become a real convenient part. Strong and I have been using for 3 weeks and am very happy. Would but again. Maybe in a different color too.

It’s well made, and sturdy, however . . . I noticed that whatever they use to dye the leather rubs off on your clothing. Everything the strap or body touches ends up with smudges of dye. It launders out, but having carried bags for decades, I’ve never had this problem occur. Two stars for construction, but unless I can find a way to stop the dye from transferring, it will be useless.

Beauty of the leather, good design ,made in America, and a reasonable price gives me hope in my country's future. This was a Father's Day gift for my husband of 64 years. He loved it. Just the right size for light local trips. I use it as a carry case for my stuff on short trips on my motorcycle and it's super sturdy for that purpose. Very flexible for different situations from being an accessory when dressed for business or going to the beach or a park for a day out in nature.Highly recommend

I removed the inside zipper. I do not see a purpose for it, other than every time yo reach into the bag the zipper scratches you hand.I would like a 2" thick instead of 3" with the same design.I used the bag to carry my Springfield 45, my wallet, my iPad and my earphones. 2" bag would be perfect.

My husband really likes this bag. It looks really great. The only issue is that he has used it a handful of times and it already has a number of scratches on it. Great bag but you've got to be gentle with it!

Using the handbag to carry many small items throughout the day.Love the craftsmanship of the bag. Just don’t know why the velvet-like lining underneath the flap was installed. The natural leather was obviously covered with this dark, velvet-like material, which I am not fond of. Otherwise, I would give the bag a 5-star rating.

Check out measurements prior to ordering I knew it was larger than what I normally carry. I love love this. First leather purse, so maybe i will come back some months from now and give an update. Until then I will enjoy carrying this to work and everywhere I go.

Nicely made. The strap is a combination of webbing and leather that should help it last. An all leather strap would have been nice, too.

I just received this a few days ago, and my initial impressions are very favorable. As far as looks go, I've gotten several unsolicited compliments. I think it looks masculine without being in-your-face about it. It seems to be very well made--good leather, high quality stitching, etc. It's not real big, so don't expect to use it for a weekend getaway, but it holds my journal, stationery, and a moderately-thick book, plus pens, markers, my smart phone charger and other small odds and ends…

I like the look, the size and the quality. of the material. It came in unbelievably awesome packaging. My purpose is to carry a book while on public transportation. I was expecting more capacity but it is what I wanted and need.

This is the third Jack & Chris Heavy leather bag I have purchaced. These bags are top notch, top drawer, top gun, well, no gun, but you get the idea. I dont carry any thing in pockets any more. Wallet, keys, phone, callendar, and many more things fit right in the bag and then its over the shoulder, cross body and I'm outa here.I gotta give it to these guys. They make excelent bags. I purchased this bag to use as my everyday bag(I'm a woman). I'm absolutely keeping it but was surprised at how "distressed" the leather was. I would definitely pay close attention to the dementions. The purse i received is actually quite a bit longer than the photo suggests. The photo suggests an almost dainty feminine bag.which it isn't. definitely will work as a "man's" bag.

I'm in love with this bag. so tough. I had fancy italian leather purse it fell apart. Also, the interior has a strong zipper theres no way anyone will razor blade your bag open to get at your stuff. it deos get scratched or stained easily who cares its a rustic look bag. love it.
