If the build is heavy, it shouldn't be, so return or replace before struggling with the build.
One of the stools was made wrong but we assembled it after a long painful time. There was a gap between the top and bottom, and the steps were in opposite places than the other stool. The two replacement stools were dispatched within 2 days and I had to return 2 stools as they came in a pack of two. It wasn't easy to take apart to send back as most of the screws were removed from the complex assembly. The new stool was easy to assemble. Now they look amazing and I am happy with the finished product!
