Update: I was an idiot cutting them off. The buckle can loosen the strap and you can cut it off on the side, which doesn't have to be perfect because it's hidden. I wish the "extra belt" rubber bands were made of something more durable as they start to rub. I still love these belts and would buy them again. Original: I really like these straps, they are nice enough, not aggressive and understated enough to wear on a daily basis, but also have the benefit of being metal free when working. detectors on the move. The buckle works a little differently than other straps, but it's not hard to figure out and seems to work pretty well. I've never had a belt slip or anything like that. My only complaint is that if you have a reasonable waist size you will most likely need to trim the belt. Shortening the strap is not a problem, but reproducing the original cutting pattern is a problem. I've tried melting it with a lighter, hot knife, soldering iron, but none of these methods resulted in a finish as good as the original. If the manufacturer provides a guide or tool to reproduce the original finish, this would be a 5 star product in my book.
