It depends on how you need it.
I bought them because my son recently bought a set. A friend tried this when I was visiting my son's carpeted staircase. She removed the animal hair from the carpet. When I bought mine I was disappointed as it didn't go well with the white dog hair I get on my clothes from my small pedigree dog. Also, you have to be careful as it will get caught on your clothes.
