High initial cost but worth it

My wife and I looked at many microwave ovens before deciding on this one for our new home. We wanted a commercial microwave because commercial microwaves are: * easier to clean (that means NSF approved) - fewer nooks and crannies for dirt and crumbs * harder to break - hinges, handles, etc. are quite strong * more reliable - the Die Microwave tracks its usage, how many times it's been used *hundreds* of times. It's designed to be used many, many times a day and still work. Commercial microwave ovens like this one also don't have turntables - they turn the microwave mechanism inside. No turntable = easier to clean, less breakage and less food splatter. We liked the NE-1054F because it still has a digital display/numeric time keys for precise input and also has a light that stays on while cooking. Cooking and when the door is opened. This microwave is customizable - if you read the manual, you can turn off the beeper (which is annoyingly loud) when cooking is complete and switch to "program lock" mode, which makes it easy to just press a button to start cooking. However, there are only 4 stars because this microwave has some special features. You must have recently opened/closed the door to start cooking. If you wait too long after closing the door, the buttons will not work until you open/close it again. uncovered sauce too long and steam overheated/safety mode. In fact, it seemed dead - no buttons, no displays, nothing. Microwave briefly unplugged and back to normal after cooling down. But in this case the guide wasn't very helpful and we weren't sure what was going on. UPDATE 05/12/13. It turns out that the overheating is due to the fan not working properly at times. Looking inside the rear grill with a flashlight, I found a small piece of sticky-backed foam getting in the way of the fan blades. I managed it with a bracket, a screwdriver and a lot of patience and now the fan runs all the time. So. still a decent microwave but maybe some factory quality control issues. UPDATE 11/2/14: We've had the microwave for about 1.5 years and it still works great. No issues other than the initial piece of loose foam reported above.
