Update - Intermittent charging

I believe I'm a certified Luddites because as of July 2020 all my working headphones were still plugged in. My only pair of wireless headphones I tried a few years ago honestly stunk - heavy, short battery life and mediocre sound. So I was a bit reluctant to go wireless again, but for some activities wired headphones just aren't comfortable, so I decided to give these Helix True Wireless Bluetooth 5.0 headphones a try. what do i think about it Not perfect, but quite good. "Plus: The headphones are light and sit very comfortably in the ears. The bass is very good, low frequencies don't need to be pumped up artificially. The headphones paired seamlessly with my iPhone, and once I got used to the tiny buttons, I was able to control (pause, skip forward, skip back) my audio app. Charging the headphones in the included case seems to work well, and the case itself has a rechargeable battery so you can charge your headphones on the go. (I haven't used them enough to rate battery life.) Cons: The Helix headphones' highs are a bit lacking; Compared to my premium wired headphones, I noticed a treble drop above about 2000Hz. (Since I can adjust the treble in my audio app, I don't mind.) When watching videos, e.g. On YouTube, for example, we occasionally encounter audio sync issues. Turning off the headphones fixes this in most cases. Lastly, I experienced a few random disconnects/reconnects during use even though the iPhone was within range. (Perhaps this was due to weak batteries in the headphones.) Problem: The instructions are completely inadequate; I still don't know if I need to turn off the headphones before charging or if it doesn't matter. I also don't know how the auto shut off feature works. In addition, the supplied charging cable (USB-A to USB-C) is only about 10 centimeters long; I would like them to provide a 3ft cord as power isn't always close to you. Finally, the charging case feels flimsy, especially the lid. Update: I've confirmed the battery life to be around four hours, which is typical for budget wireless headphones. I've also noticed that the earbuds don't always fit properly in the charging case - sometimes it takes a bit of fiddling to get them in place and charging. Conclusion: Worth a try - 3 stars. The manual needs an update and the sound isn't perfect, but these headphones are fine. However, I liked them better for their original price - I see the price has doubled now and there are better options in the $50 range. Update March 2021 - I found out that these headphones *only* charge when they're on. I'm not sure what happens when the battery dies to the point where they won't turn on, but I don't think this is a good design. After not using it for months I also thought the charging case was broken as it wasn't charging despite being plugged in for hours. It turns out that the Helix case doesn't charge at all when using a standard USB-C to USB-C cable, which works with all my other headphones. I had to find a USB-A to USB-C cable and use an Apple charger to charge the case. This really limits the usefulness of these headphones for me as I've otherwise transitioned to just using USB-C chargers and cables. And even when using the "right cable", the headphones often do not sit properly in the case and therefore do not charge at all. I can't recommend these headphones more as I've found others at a lower price that work better for me without all the charging quirks.
