Purpose of purchase was for my son's violin lessons. He is 11 years old and often forgets the important points of the teacher. A bit pricey but worth the money. I've been using it for about two months now and I love it. The sound recording quality is quite good. I can easily hear what the teacher said 10 feet away while my son's violin playing is crystal clear about 5 feet away. However, it cannot be used for a serious musician. The voice recorder is easy to use. The menu is easy to understand and follow. The only thing I can complain about is that fast forwarding and rewinding feels difficult. The fast forward and rewind buttons are mainly used to jump between indexes. It has 2x playback speed but it would be nice if it had a DVD player that can do 4x, 8x, 16x forward or reverse. It will make it a better product if it can embed an SD slot.
