I needed space and could buy a 6-8 TB SSD for the price of a 1 TB SSD. But I chose an SSD because I was fed up with mechanical drives. Usually in electronics it lasts 5 years if it lasts longer than 30 days, but hard drives are delicate and often fail recklessly. So 1TB for $125 was a viable option. If it works for a month, it will work reliably for a long time. This one is small, the USB-C power/data cable is on the front (the only thing I don't like about it), it has a "sleep" mode, but lots of fast reads and writes. My computer is only 3.0 but very fast. But I like it so much that I'm now thinking about another one. Much luck
